This is a 30 Day Challenge for Internet Network Marketing. The goals is to create 3-6 videos per day, article marketing, and to use social media to reach out to my target market. Reason #1: Your Up-line – Your up-line has been teaching you traditional old school sales and prospecting methods that no longer work in today’s environment.  Let’s be clear that you don’t have 2-5 years to build your business online.  We don’t have the time and patience to wait that long.  By following their game plan you’re building a 2-5 year business with a 97% chance of failure.  They also don’t tell you that you’re not in the sales business.  We’re in the marketing business.  Sales are for salesman and it’s possible that you’re an amazing salesman, but most of us struggle with that every day.  Don’t get me wrong because you can have some success with those old school techniques but the fact is that it really only works for about 3% of the people who get into the business.  The other 97% of us are left to struggle to reach any real type of income.  And this leads us into reason #2.

Reason #2: Your Business Opportunity – The problem might not be with your company. Let’s assume your monthly housing and business expenses are $3,000 per month.  If your primary business pays you $100 per new sponsored representative you could calculate that you need 30 new representatives per month.  If you built your business only by bringing new representatives then this would be true.  However, the reality is that in any MLM or Network Marketing opportunity, the income you desire is built in depth.  Sponsoring the world is great but if your new sponsors can’t duplicate your system, once you stop sponsoring your income dries up. Follow these 5 steps to proper financial planning:

• Step 1 – Eliminating Bad Spending
  • Breakdown all of your monthly expenses and I mean everything
  • Use at least 3 months of statements from your bank, credit cards, and utilities
    • Separate every item into either business or personal expenses by month
    • Further separate into categories like groceries, dining out, internet, telephone, etc.
    • You will start noticing a spending pattern (don’t get upset and deal with the reality)
  • Eliminate all unnecessary expenses.  They are killing your ability to stay in business longer and develop a reliable income stream
  • General Rule – If your spending doesn’t feed you, provide a roof over your head, promote your business, or enhance your personal development then it must be cut out
    • Junkie spending withdrawals will disappear within 3 months
  • By the way, stop paying with cash!  Use your debit card, credit card or check book to keep records of your purchases
• Step 2 – Forecasting Marketing Expenses
  • If you are going after a two prong approach as I recommend, you will need to estimate in the beginning how much it will cost you to bring in a new sponsored representative in the online and offline world

  • Offline advertising depends on what methods you are going to implement
    • Business Cards – $75 per 1000 cards
    • Flyers – $.10 to $.50 per flyer depending on quality

• Step 3 – Inputting Information
  • Input all your data into an excel spreadsheet and calculate all your monthly and estimated expenses
    • Color code actual and estimated expenses differently.  When estimated expenses become actual expenses change the font color again to keep your sheet organized

• Step 4 – Forecast Income
  • You have determined your expenses and now you know how much you will have to make in order to breakeven
  • If you are seriously going to run with your opportunity and have the determination to succeed then forecast at least 3 to 4 months to breakeven on your monthly expenses
  • Leveraging your human assets and driving depth is the only way to achieve stability and create wealth
    • Calculate the minimum new sponsorship that your team has to create on a monthly basis and the income potential to you from your combined efforts
• Step 5 – Analyzing Your Results
  • Determine if you can eliminate or reduce additional expenses
  • Where and how can you increase your income to reach your goals faster?
  • Are you being realistic, overly optimistic, or too conservative?
  • How many people are you going to have to talk to on the phone or in person to achieve your goals?
  • Go beyond your perception of reality and shatter the barriers to your success!

After recently spending 36 hours in an emergency and operating room, I came to realize that aside from my family that my health was the most important thing in my life. I always heard from older people that if you don’t have your health you don’t have anything. How true those words rang in my head while laying in the ER filled with pain and not knowing if I was going into cardiac arrest.

First and foremost, people must understand that Network Marketing is a part of every business without exception. It’s all in whom you know or who you are willing to approach to get to know. You can’t grow your business long-term without having a genuine interest in people, becoming a star in your organization and duplicating yourself over and over again.

When you join an MLM or Networking Marketing Company it is important that you understand the compensation plan in order to achieve long-term success. It comes down to planning your activities and actions. However, when starting out don’t let understanding the compensation plan drag you down. You have to take that initial excitement and energy out to the masses and spread the word. Leverage the MLM company marketing materials to explain the nuances of the opportunity. That’s why they were created in the first place. Use three way calling and introduce the prospect to an experienced upline. Your main goal at this stage is to introduce, listen, and learn. At this point you have gone from being a follower to a pre-leader.

By understanding your compensation plan you will be able to structure your group and personal activities in a way that you can achieve your goals. It’s important that you understand your groups individual goals as well since they are the people helping your grow the business. If your goals and theirs are not aligned, there will be some push back from their end on your requests. I focus on helping people achieve their goals which in turn satisfies my goals. Study your compensation plan and ask yourself “How much money do I want to make?” Is that amount $1K, $5K, $25K per month? Your desired income goals will let you know how many leaders you will need in your downline. Your job is to take followers and convert them into leaders. Not everyone is up to the task but that is why you interview people to find out their motives and their ability to lead. Go beyond the minimum amount of people you have determined you need to reach your goals. You will want at least 1.5 times beyond the minimum requirement of representatives to achieve your income goals. Your downline representatives/business partners have a life and something will inevitable happen that causes them to lose focus from time to time. It is ultimately your responsibility to keep pushing your business forward without depending on any single individual. Otherwise, you won’t hit your goals and will become frustrated at your efforts or lack of efforts of others. Never take anything personally since it’s a waste of your time and energy. Keep moving forward with the end game in mind.

The people you think will be leaders usually are not and are the ones that try to reinvent the wheel. They look for a better way to do things and rarely end up being successful. It is important that you never stop sponsoring. Every new person you bring into your primary business sets an example for your downline that you should encourage to follow. To achieve the highest levels of achievement you have to break down your goals into chucks of digestible information. It’s important that you achieve the 1st level as quickly as possible. You will notice that getting to a higher level requires repetition of what you did to reach the 1st level. This is what you teach your downline to do over and over again indefinitely.
